India’s Interest in Purchasing France’s Rafale F5 Fighter Jets
Recently, the French Foreign Ministry published an analysis clearly stating that India plans to purchase 90 Rafale F4 fighter jets. However, it was later removed from public access. It highlighted the Chinese misinformation campaign on the Rafale, which Pakistan spread worldwide.
The document highlights the need for the Indian Air Force to bypass traditional tendering and procure the aircraft as quickly as possible. The primary reason for this is to address the pressure on the country’s dwindling aircraft squadrons. It should be noted that the Indian government is preparing a direct government-to-government (G2G) proposal for 114 more fighter jets under the Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) program.
